I pushed our bot token to GitHub
Why Sound Sync dropped offline today and how our env file got pushed to GitHub.
If Sound Sync died in your voice channel earlier today, then you are free to blame me. I was pushing some new features and bug fixes to our repo and ran git add without checking git status first. I made some updates to our env file and instead of pushing the env example file, I pushed our env file directly to the repo, and I did not have it added in gitignore either because I was being dumb.
Within about thirty minutes of the commit going live, I got two or three messages from our community mods that I made a mistake. They told me that I accidentally pushed our env file to GitHub.
When I found out about this, I immediately ran over to the developer portal to generate a fresh token and wiped the commit from git history. Seventeen helped me double check that no harm was done and everything was normal. Everything is back up and running smoothly now. Really sorry to anyone whose music got cut short today.
