The Early Bot Days and Learning from Downtime

The bot has experienced frequent downtime over the past couple of weeks, with multiple restarts and sudden crashes interrupting playback. Whenever the bot went down, we rushed to get it back online within ten minutes, only to have another unexpected issue pop up shortly after. Half the time we fixed one bug only for another part to break, largely due to some really stupid coding mistakes we made.

We were hosting the bot on whatever spare setups we could find, and that was our biggest mistake since we had almost no experience running home servers. We are working on getting proper hosting set up. Thank you to everyone in chat who kept reporting crashes and remained patient with us while we work through these restarts.
